Dayna Donsky
- Clinical Psychologist

I’m a clinical psychologist who works with adults experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as a range of other challenges such as trauma, self-esteem concerns, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, adjustment/life transitions, addiction, chronic stress and burnout, grief and loss, and questions around identity and self-worth. Many of the people I see feel stuck in some way. They are often facing difficult decisions, feeling unsure or ambivalent about something, or sensing that they want more from life but aren’t quite sure how to move towards it.
My work is grounded in attachment theory and relational approaches. I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology, as well as degrees in Psychological Science (Honours) and Human Resource Management. Over the past decade, I have worked across private practice, inpatient, and educational settings, developing a trauma-informed and attachment-focused approach to therapy, mostly drawing on psychodynamic concepts. These experiences have strengthened my faith in the process of therapy and the value of a thoughtful, rock-solid therapeutic relationship, which creates lasting change.
I work from the understanding that therapy should be a collaborative space where we can explore and make sense of the factors contributing to your current concerns. My approach in the room is flexible and responsive. I bring curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human. I prioritise understanding you as a person rather than pathologising and I am more interested in what may be beneath your symptoms. I often explore early relational templates that have shaped the way you are responding, thinking and feeling in the now and consider the possibility of old, familiar patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Over time, this approach is transformative and powerful – giving you the ability to make deliberate choices and to feel more balanced, coherent, and capable.
I also offer short-term, symptom reduction treatment for those who feel they need immediate support. Problem-solving and skills-based work can often complement the longer-term, attachment-based approach or can be offered exclusively for those who are looking for ways to restore emotional balance.
If you are interested in pursuing this type of work, please feel free to book an initial consultation to discuss further.
